I'm not a fashionista by any stretch of the imagination. I can't name drop obscure designers or pick out who made something by silhouette alone, but I love fashion that transcends the ordinary to become something bigger than beautiful. Clothes and shows that are challenging and inspiring and true art (and often times beautiful as well). I think every designer probably says that's what they aim to do, but in my opinion very few actually accomplish it. Alexander McQueen was someone who did. Over and over again. Even as a casual follower of high fashion, I will surely miss his work.
