Dance Yourself To Death

Dance Yourself To Death are a self-described New Wave/Pop/Rock band from Toronto who've been gaining steam in the queer music scene for the last few years. They first gained attention when Elton John discovered their music and cast them as a band in a film he was producing (who knew Elton John produced films?) in 2005. Since then, they have played with Peaches, Leisha Haley's band Uh Huh Her and The Hidden Cameras, amongst others, and released a full length album.

The songs I've heard from their debut album Ready For Love are a pop-rocky collection of tunes reminiscent of bands like Metric or The Sounds with some 80's inspired synth lines and a 70's rock vibe. Factor in their queer lovesongs and good haircuts and you have a band that should be huge pretty much any day now.

Ready For Love is available from their Big Cartel store and they have a remix EP (featuring a remix from JD Samson) on the way soon!

In the meantime, check out the Y&R remix of Midnight Affair and visit their Myspace page to hear more.
