Marilyn liked to read and so should you

Finery
wants your stories, poems, essays, text monsters and monster texts for our 7th issue. The theme this time around is "myth-making": interpret as you like, the broader & stranger the better! Though we always love a good straight forward myth, too.

Email up to ten pages as an .rtf attachment to birdsoflace@gmail.com by January 31st, 2010. We also like black and white drawings & songs, as this issue will come with a cd. Submissions accepted from self-identified women and queers of all genders.

check out excerpts from past issues here & here

Please re-post/pass along!

Rohin is one of your favorite new writers! I'm glad I could let you in on this information. Rohin is a fiction writer living in New York who also writes extremely witty media-coverage-type-things for Blackbook Magazine, Paper Magazine etc.; he is also an editor of At-large magazine, a terrific online literary journal. What really gets me going, though, are Rohin's short stories and fictions in general. Here are some links so that you might partake of these delicious words:

Rohin at Blackbook

Rohin at Idolator on the demise of girl groups

listen to Rohin read you a story

buy a copy of finery #6, which features a story by Rohin

last but not least, enjoy Rohin's charming, smart & often hilarious musings over at his tumblr
